The executive search industry has always been a lucrative business with very low entry barriers.  There are thousands of search firms selling the same service with similar results of success ~ 40%.  Furthermore, of the senior management hired, only 40% remain in the position after 18 months. Any business with such a low success rate would not survive.  Because the expectation of the recruiting industry is so low and the need for quality recruiting is great, the industry continues to exist.  The client unfortunately operates by a "Buyer Beware" mode and takes great risk to seek a new leader.

Turnover exceeds 50% with new leaders and a primary cause for the high turnover of leaders is the poor onboarding/integration plan in place to make the new leader successful.
